About Margo

About Margo

Margo’s hands have been caked in clay for as long as she can remember.

As the daughter of a potter and glass jewelry artist, she appreciates the significance of handmade objects. Margo uses her own print blocks to achieve a unique style of texture on clay.

Her functional forms take on an anthropomorphic quality often described as “delightfully quirky”.  Some of Margo’s vessels have tails while others look like they may (or may not) be wearing pants.

“I like to imagine these clay pieces coming alive in the middle of the night and mischievously sneaking spoonfuls of peanut butter in a dark kitchen, only to return to their hardened clay forms in the morning”

Margo holds a Masters degree in Arts Leadership from Seattle University, where she studied nonprofit management.  Margo is a Resident Artist at Seward Park Clay Studio and enjoys teaching yourth classes through Arts Corps.
